Heavy-duty coverage for a demanding operational site
When MPK Kinetic needed durable, weather-resistant shelters for a major CSG project in QLD, they turned to Ezy Igloo for the supply and full installation of three container dome structures. The team needed a solution that could be deployed efficiently, met Australian engineering standards, and held up to the tough conditions of regional Queensland – and that’s exactly what they got.
From initial consultation through to final handover, the project was completed on time, to standard, and to a finish that exceeded the client’s expectations.
The scope of works
The project involved the full supply and installation of three container dome structures at MPK Kinetic’s yards in Miles, QLD. Ezy Igloo was engaged to handle everything from initial consultation through to final handover – supplying the structures, coordinating logistics to a regional Queensland location, and completing the installation with a fully ticketed crew.
The scope included two 18m wide x 12m long domes and one 12m wide x 12m long dome, all mounted to shipping containers and installed to engineer-certified standards. Given the site’s location and operational demands, the structures needed to be built to last and ready to perform from day one.
The challenges
Miles sits in inland Queensland, where summer heat, UV exposure, and the demands of heavy industry put real pressure on any site infrastructure. The client needed coverage that would protect valuable plant and equipment from the elements without the delays or costs associated with a permanent steel shed.
Coordinating the delivery and installation of three structures at a regional site also required careful logistics planning and clear communication with the client throughout. Any downtime or delays on a working operational site isn’t just inconvenient – it has a real cost.
The solution
Ezy Igloo supplied and installed three container dome shelters that met the site’s specific size, performance, and compliance requirements. All structures were built with heavy-duty galvanised steel arches and Australian-made CANVACON® PE fabric covers, backed by a 10-year structural warranty and 20-year UV warranty.
Installation was carried out by Ezy Igloo’s fully ticketed crew, led by installer Jack Tarrant, who completed the works safely, on schedule, and to a high standard of finish. The base rail system was included as standard across all three domes, ensuring maximum waterproofing without penetrating the container roofs.
The result was a covered, weather-resistant workspace that MPK Kinetic could put straight to use – durable, engineer-certified, and built for Australian conditions.
