Quality & Materials
How do Ezy Igloos compare to imported alternatives?
Our dome shelters stand apart from cheap imports through verified quality and compliance. Every Ezy Igloo comes with both a Weld Test Certificate and Mill Test Certificate, documenting steel strength, composition, and full compliance with Australian Standards. This certification ensures you’re investing in a shelter that’s built to last in Australian conditions.
What material is used for the dome covers?
We exclusively use Canvacon, an Australian-made, heavy-duty, woven, polyfabric chosen specifically for its exceptional durability and performance. This premium material offers:
Superior strength-to-weight ratio, so it’s lightweight yet super strong
High resistance to tears and abrasion
UV stabilisation and coating for Australian sun protection
Weather-resistant properties
Long-lasting performance in all types of harsh conditions
Installation & Requirements
Do I need council approval to add one of your domes to my property?
While container domes are generally considered temporary or relocatable structures and typically don’t require council approval, we recommend consulting your local council regarding specific requirements for your area. Every council across the country has different rules and regulations according to structure size, location, and other factors.
What equipment is needed for installation?
At Ezy Igloo, we make dome shelters designed for easy DIY installation, or we can have a fully-ticketed installation crew on hand if needed.
Standard installation requires:
A scissor lift
A crane
A qualified welder/boilermaker for weld-mounted options
How complex is the installation process?
Thanks to our innovative base rail design, installation is streamlined and efficient. Installation time varies by igloo size (we have a large range of standard-sized container domes in stock) and site requirements, but we ensure you’re well-supported with:
Detailed assembly instructions and drawings to guide you
Access to our technical support team if you need it along the way
Clear guidance throughout the process
Technical Specifications
Is container anchoring necessary?
Yes, most installations require anchoring. We offer several engineered solutions to help you, if you’d like, and we can add this to your quote:
Container ballasting (internal weights)
Concrete footings
Concrete slab fixing
Do you offer weld-free options?
Yes, we do. Our twist-lock system is available for all our igloo dome models, eliminating the need for hot works during installation.
How do I know which dome shelter best suits my particular location?
When you contact our team for more information or a quote, we will ask for your suburb location so we can provide you with the latest and most accurate details and quote. In Australia, we have four different wind regions based on the varying windstorm types typical to each zone. Our dome shelters have Wind Region Ratings, which means they’re engineered to withstand the wind loads as set out under the Australian Standards, AS/NZS 1170:2:2021. You can learn more via our detailed guide to Australian wind ratings.
Customisation & Modifications
Can you quote me on a dome shelter that’s a different length, width, or height to your standard sizes?
No, sorry, at Ezy Igloo, we only stock our standard sizes and don’t offer custom products. If you need a special size that differs from our Ezy Igloo products, it’s best to speak with the team at our sister company, Container Domes Australia.
What's your maximum span width?
Our standard range extends to 21m wide. We can refer you to our sister company, Container Domes Australia, for larger requirements.
Can domes be connected end-to-end?
Absolutely! Our clever Ezy Igloo design allows for modular expansion if you’d like to set this up, so domes can be added end to end to make a longer shelter. We provide either a cover strip or a custom cover to create a seamless connection between units.
Maintenance & Support
Can you provide replacement covers for existing domes?
We can supply replacement covers for genuine Ezy Igloo structures but not for other dome designs. Due to design variations, we cannot guarantee a proper fit for other manufacturers’ domes.
Do you offer end wall retrofitting on existing domes?
End wall retrofitting is available exclusively for Ezy Igloo products. We cannot accommodate other manufacturers’ designs due to structural differences.
Purchase & Payment
Do you offer hire options?
No, sorry, we operate on a supply-only basis and do not hire out our domes.
What are your payment terms?
Full payment is required before dispatch as we maintain ready-to-ship stock. For corporate clients with specific payment requirements, please discuss options with our sales team.
Professional Services
Do you provide installation services for domes purchased elsewhere?
Our installation service is exclusively available for Ezy Igloo products. Our installation teams are specifically trained in our proprietary designs and assembly methods. As such, they cannot install any other container domes because they’re likely configured very differently – there is no such thing as a typical container dome design.
